The Indiana Pacers made some nice moves over the summer to fortify their bench. D.J. Augustin, Gerald Green and Ian Mahinmi were good additions to the Pacers, who already have an outstanding starting five. I think the Pacers are going to take the next step in 2012-13, so I would take the over!
The Pacers were 32-50 last season and I see reasons for optimism finally. Danny Granger, Darren Collison and possibly Roy Hibbert give the Pacers a trio of players who could make big impacts. But the rest of the roster is pretty bad so the Pacers will have to ride that trio to improve this year. I would side on taking the under for Pacers’ wins in 2010-11 but it will be close. The Pacers are 200-1 to win the NBA Championship and I would keep my money in my pocket on that one.
The Pacers appear to be a lot deeper than they have been in the past. But, the Eastern Conference is getting tougher. Still, for some reason I like the Pacers to finish around .500 this season. So I would make a small bet on the over if I had to make a call on the Pacers for 2009-2010.
