The Indiana Pacers will have to ante’ up to keep Roy Hibbert

Blogged under Big Pacers News, Bloglockers, Front Page, General by alleyoop on Friday 6 July 2012 at 11:52 am

The Indiana Pacers will have to ante’ up to re-sign Roy Hibbert as the Blazers have signed him to a 4-year, $59 million dollar offer sheet. Hibbert played in 65 games (all starts) for the Pacers last year and he averaged 29.8 minutes, 12.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 2.0 blocked shots per game. Hibbert has played in 297 games (256 starts) in his four years with the Pacers and he has averaged 24.3 minutes, 11.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.6 blocked shots per game. Hibbert is currently #6 in Pacers’ history with 477 blocked shots. The Pacers better think long and hard about matching the offer Hibbert got from the Blazers, because he keeps getting better every season.

UPDATE: (7/11/2012) - The Pacers have matched Portland’s offer sheet for Roy Hibbert.
