21-year old starting shooting guard Paul George is off to a really solid start for the Pacers so far this year. George has played in both of the Pacers games so far this year and he is averaging 34.5 minutes, 15.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. George has also been solid from long range so far this year as he has already hit 6 of 10 (60%) shots from three point range. The Pacers are the team lying in the weeds in the Eastern Conference and George is a big reason for that as he has a huge upside.

The Pacers have acquired 29-year old power forward Louis Amundson from the Golden State Warriors for 26-year old shooting guard Brandon Rush. Amundson played in 46 games (7 starts) for the Warriors last year and he averaged 15.0 minutes, 4.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. He has now played in 228 games (7 starts) in his NBA career so far and he is averaging 13.4 minutes, 4.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game. Amundson will bring a lot of energy off the bench for the Pacers in 2011-12. Rush played in 67 games (21 starts) for the Pacers last year and he averaged 26.2 minutes, 9.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. He played in 224 games (104 starts) in his three years with the Pacers and he averaged 27.0 minutes, 8.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. The Pacers have been trying to get rid of Rush for some time now, so they probably jumped to make this deal when it was offered to them.

He has now played in 864 games (479 starts) in his NBA career and he is averaging 26.9 minutes, 8.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game. The Pacers won’t miss Posey too much as Paul George will gobble up his minutes in 2011-12.

The Pacers have signed 31-year old power forward David West for a 2-year, $20 million dollar deal. West played in 70 games (all starts) for the Hornets last year and he averaged 35.0 minutes, 18.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steal per game. He has now played in 530 games (438 starts) in his NBA career and he is averaging 32.4 minutes, 16.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. This was a solid move for the Pacers as West will team with Roy Hibbert and Danny Granger to give them a very nice frontcourt in 2011-12.

He played in 39 games (4 starts) in 2009-2010 as a rookie for the Trailblazers and he averaged 10.4 minutes, 2.7 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. He shot an amazing 66.2% from the floor as a rookie, with most of his shots coming from close range. Pendergraph could wind up being a decent bench player for the Pacers if he can stay healthy.
