The Pacers give the Suns a 103-92 victory in Indiana

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, Game Recaps by alleyoop on Wednesday 28 February 2007 at 12:29 am

The Pacers looked great for the first three quarters, but, the Suns outscored them 30-13 in the 4th quarter to snatch the victory last night.  Can’t blame Jermaine O’Neal for the loss as he had an awesone game.  O’Neal scored 28 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, dished out 7 assists, stole the ball 2 times and blocked 6 shots.  Darrell Armstrong got a rare start and he had a good game.  Armstrong scored 17 points, dished out 6 assists and he hit 5 of 6 three pointers.  Mike Dunleavy also had a solid game with 16 points and 6 rebounds.

The Pacers only shot 38.2% from the floor and they were outscored 63-43 in the second half and that’s why they lost tonight.  Jermaine O’Neal led the way for the Pacers with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 blocked shots.  Mike Dunleavy also had a solid game with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Pacers only shot 38.6% from the floor and they allowed the Raptors to hit 56.2% from the floor and those are the major reason why they got blown out last night.  Jamaal Tinsley directed the offense with 19 points, 8 assists and 3 steals.  Jermaine O’Neal had a solid game too with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Pacers are right in the thick of it in the Eastern Conference

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 20 February 2007 at 9:28 pm

The Pacers are currently tied with the Chicago Bulls for third place in the Central Divison, 4.5 games behind the Pistons for both the division and the #1 seed in the playoffs.  It seems as if the trade with the Warriors hasn’t really helped or hurt the team yet.  It would really help the Pacers if Troy Murphy and Mike Dunleavy picked their games up somewhat.  Also, young Marquis Daniels and Ike Diogu have the potential to be dominant players in the NBA and the Pacers would like to see them both grow in the second half.  Look for Jermaine O’Neal to be more assertive on offense in the second half and try to carry the Pacers on his back.  It’s possible that the Pacers could improve their playoff positioning as they are currently the fifth best team in the East.

Rawle Marshall battling to keep his roster spot with the Pacers

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, Need to Step Up by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 13 February 2007 at 4:28 pm

Young Rawle Marshall will have a hard time keeping his job unless he starts to do something when he gets on the court.  Marshall has played in 28 games and he’s averaged 10.1 minutes, 2.6 points and 0.9 rebounds per game this season and that will not cut it.  It’s possible that he will wind up in the D-League or just cut.

Jermaine O’Neal = The Best Player on the Pacers

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, Steppin Up by Nothing but Net on Friday 9 February 2007 at 10:29 am

Jermaine O’Neal was Reggie Miller’s caddy when he first got to Indiana, but now he is the man!  O’Neal was angry early in the year about how the team was playing…so he spot up and the Pacers made a trade to make him happy.  Any GM of Head Coach would want a player to be happy that’s performing the way O’Neal is this season.  O’Neal is averaging 19.8 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 3.1 blocks per game as he has been a dominant force in the paint at both ends of the court for the Pacers.  He’s only making 44.5% of his shots from the floor which is a little low for him but he still makes his free throws (76.4%) and he gets fouled a lot so that is important.  O’Neal was stolen from the Portland Trailblazers in a trade a long time ago and Pacers fans couldn’t be happier about that.
