The Indianapolis Colts are sending two players to the Pro Bowl

31-year old OLB Robert Mathis and 34-year old WR Reggie Wayne will be representing the Colts in the Pro Bowl.  Mathis played in 12 games for the Colts this year and he had 33 tackles, 8 sacks, 2 tackles for a loss, 1 forced fumble, 1 interception and 2 passes defensed.  This will be the fourth time that Mathis has represented the Colts in the Pro Bowl.  Wayne will be heading to his 6th Pro Bowl.  He played in 16 games for the Colts this year and he caught 106 passes for 1,355 yards (12.8 avg) with 5 TD grabs.  He caught 106 of 194 passes (54.6%) thrown in his direction this year.  73 of his catches resulted in first downs for the Colts.  It will be like old times for Wayne as he will likely catch some passes from Peyton Manning in the Pro Bowl.

DE Dwight Freeney will be the Indianapolis Colts’ lone rep at the Pro Bowl

31-year old DE Dwight Freeney has been elected as a starter in the Pro Bowl.  He has played in 15 games for the Colts so far this year and he has 18 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 1 tackle for a loss.  I think this was a pick based on reputation because a lot of DEs have played way better than Freeney in the AFC so far this year.  Freeney has now played in 148 games in his first 10 years with the Colts and he had 285 tackles, 101.5 sacks, 43 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, 14 passes defensed and 32 tackles for a loss.

The Colts have six players going to the Pro Bowl but they hope that none of them get to play in that game because they would rather be playing in the Super Bowl.  33-year old QB Peyton Manning has made the game once again.  He has played in 15 games this season and he has completed 379 of 553 passes (68.5%) for 4,405 yards with 33 TD passes and 15 INTs (101.0 QB Rating).  31-year old WR Reggie Wayne is also going to the game along with his QB.  Wayne has played in 15 games this season in which he has caught 95 passes for 1,243 yards (13.1 avg) with 10 TD grabs.  30-year old TE Dallas Clark had his best season of his career earning him this honor.  Clark has played in 15 games for the Colts this season and he has caught 93 passes for 1,054 yards (11.3 avg) with 10 TD grabs.  34-year old center Jeff Saturday has also earned a trip to the Pro Bowl as he is the only Colts’ player who has touched the football as much as Peyton Manning.  29-year old DE Dwight Freeney played in 14 games in which he made 24 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 13.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble and 1 pass defensed.  28-year old DE Robert Mathis is also going to the Bowl putting both of the Colts’ main defensive players in this game.  Mathis has played in 14 games for the Colts this season and he has made 37 tackles, 9.5 sacks, 1 tackle for a loss, forced 5 fumbles and he has defensed 2 passes.  This is a nice group the Colts have traveling to Miami to either play in the Pro Bowl or the Super Bowl.
