The Indianapolis Colts sign Antonio Cromartie

The Indianapolis Colts sign CB Antonio Cromartie to a 1-year deal.  Cromartie played in 15 games for the Jets last year and he had 29 tackles, 1 fumble recovery and 12 passes defensed.  Cromartie has now played in 158 games in his first 10 years in the NFL and he has 402 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 5 fumble recoveries, 31 interceptions (3 returned for a TD) and 114 passes defensed.  The Colts were lucky to find a guy like Cromartie still out of work.

The Indianapolis Colts sign Chase Coffman

The Indianapolis Colts have signed 29-year old TE Chase Coffman.  Coffman played in 2 games (0 starts) for the Seahawks and Titans last year and he caught 8 passes for 71 yards (8.9 avg) with 1 TD grab.  Coffman has now played in 37 games (3 starts) in his first five years in the NFL and he has caught 18 passes for 176 yards (9.8 avg) with 2 TD grabs.  Coffman will compete for a backup job when training camp starts.

The Indianapolis Colts sign Patrick Robinson

The Indianapolis Colts sign 28-year old CB Patrick Robinson.  Robinson played in 16 games (10 starts) for the Chargers last year and he had 49 tackles, 8 passes defensed and 1 interception.  He has now played in 74 games (43 starts) in his first six years in the NFL and he has 229 tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, 54 passes defensed and 10 interceptions (one returned for a TD).  Robinson is likely going to be a starting corner for the Colts in 2016.

The Indianapolis Colts have signed 27-year old WR Brian Tyms.  Tyms didn’t play in the NFL last year.  He last played in the NFL in 2014 for the New England Patriots.  Tyms has played in 18 games (2 starts) in his first three years in the NFL and he has caught 7 passes for 94 yards (13.4 avg) with 1 TD grab.  The Colts are just taking a flier on Tyms.

UPDATE:  (8/5/2016) – The Colts have released Brian Tyms with a injury settlement (ribs).

The Indianapolis Colts sign Josh Boyce

The Indianapolis Colts have signed 24-year old WR Josh Boyce.  Boyce didn’t play in the NFL last year.  He last played in the NFL in 2014 with the New England Patriots.  Boyce has played in 10 games (3 starts) in his first two years in the NFL and he has caught 9 passes for 121 yards (13.4 avg).  He has also returned 9 kickoffs for 214 yards (23.8 avg) so far in his career.  This is the Colts just taking a flier on a guy.

UPDATE:  (8/16/2016) – The Indianapolis Colts have waived Josh Boyce.

The Indianapolis Colts sign Jordan Todman

The Indianapolis Colts have signed 26-year old RB Jordan Todman.  Todman played in 11 games (0 starts) for the Steelers last year and he carried the ball 4 times for 22 yards (5.5 ypc).  He also returned 1 kickoff for 22 yards for the Steelers last year.  Todman has now played in 45 games (3 starts) in his first five years in the NFL and he has carried the ball 115 times for 472 yards (4.1 ypc) with 3 TD runs.  He has also caught 40 passes for 314 yards (7.9 avg) with 2 TD grabs and he also returned 69 kickoffs for 1,784 yards (25.9 avg) so far in his career.  This was a good signing for the Colts, as Todman is a solid backup RB (which he proved in the playoffs for the Steelers last year) and he can return kickoffs too!

The Indianapolis Colts sign Robert Turbin

The Indianapolis Colts have signed 26-year old RB Robert Turbin.  Turbin played in 10 games (0 starts) for the Browns and Cowboys last year in which he carried the ball 50 times for 199 yards (4.0 ypc) with 1 TD run.  He also caught 7 passes for 23 yards (3.3 avg) last year.  Turbin has now played in 58 games (3 starts) in his first four years in the NFL and he has carried the ball 281 times for 1,127 yards (4.0 ypc) with 1 TD run.  He also caught 50 passes for 450 yards (9.0 avg) with 2 TD grabs so far in his career.  Turbin adds a sledgehammer to the Colts’ backfield, as he is a big guy that runs hard.

The Indianapolis Colts have signed 28-year old QB Scott Tolzien to a 2-year deal.  Tolzien played in 3 games (0 starts) for the Packers last year and he was 1 for 1 passing (100%) for 4 yards (100%) with 0 TD passes and 0 INTs (83.3 QB Rating).  Tolzien also carried the ball 3 times for -3 yards (-1.0 ypc).  Tolzien has now played in 6 games (2 starts) in his first five years in the NFL and he has completed 56 of 91 passes (61.5%) for 721 yards with 1 TD pass and 5 INTs (67.1 QB Rating).  He also has carried the ball 8 times for 52 yards (6.5 ypc) with 1 TD run so far in his career.  Tolzien is 0-1-1 as a starting QB so far in his career.  The Colts better hope Andrew Luck can stay healthy in 2016, because Tolzien isn’t too good.

The Indianapolis Colts bring back DE Lawrence Guy

The Colts have signed 23-year old DE Lawrence Guy.  Guy played in 9 games as a rookie for the Colts last year and he had 18 tackles and 1 sack.  This was a good move for the Colts as Guy will give them some depth on the D-Line this year.

The Colts have signed 26-year old guard Thomas Austin.  Austin played in 4 games (1 start) for the Panthers last year.  He has played in 7 games (1 start) in his first two years in the NFL.  This was a depth signing and little more as Austin will be a longshot to open the 2013 season with the Colts.
