Colts vs. Redskins
When the Redskins have the ball, Brunell will be handing off to Clinton Portis (371 yards rushing) alot. And when Portis needs a breather, it’s LeDell Betts turn (223 yards rushing) to run the ball. The Colts defense has been absolutely horrible against the run, allowing 166.8 yards rushing and 5.2 yards per carry. After the Colts get the run game going, look for Mark Brunell to take some deep shots down the field to Santana Moss (25 rec, 415 yards). It would really help the Redskins offense if Antwaan Randle El or Brandon Lloyd could do anything to take the double-coverage off of Moss.
The Colts will try to run the ball to keep their pitiful defense off the field. The Redskins allow 111.0 yards rushing per game, so the Colts should have some success. Dominic Rhodes (273 yards rushing) and rookie Joseph Addai (269 yards rushing) have done a good job replacing Edgerrin James so far. The Colts will never be shy about throwing the football. Peyton Manning (1,278 yards passing, 95.6 QB rating) should be able to have a field day against the Redskins secondary which allows 222.2 yards passing per game and has allowed 10 TD passes. WRs Marvin Harrison (32 rec, 442 yards) and Reggie Wayne (21 rec, 382 yards) should have monster games.
The Redskins have a chance in this game, if Clinton Portis goes over 150 yards rushing. Unless that happens, the Colts will win this game easily.
